VS.NET 2003 installation wrongly with VS.NET 2002 key

Hi, all,

A strange problem. Don't know if anybody met it before or have a
solution.

I installed VS.NET 2002 before. Then I uninstalled VS.NET 2002 and
install VS.NET 2003. The problem is when it prompts me to enter the
product key, I entered the product key of VS.NET 2002. But the
validation passed and the installation process continued.

After installation, did I find that VS.NET 2003 cannot be started. It
will prompt "Please enter a valid product key to use this product -
setup has detected that the product key is missing or invalid. ...".
I click OK, then it will terminate. Then Windows Installer dialog box
comes out, but it will be closed in several seconds too. It doesn't
prompt me to re-enter the correct product key.

Now I know I should enter the VS.NET 2003 product key in the beginning
of the installation. But my colleagues said it will prompt you to
insert VS.NET 2002 CD in the process so the CDs are put together and
caused I to make the stupid mistake. I think I can try to uninstall
and install it again. But I wonder if there is a solution without
such a trouble.

Does anybody have any idea or hint?

Thanks!
Ming Zhu
