odbc driver manager

Hello,

Using .NET 1.1 and MS visual studio 2003 we are failing to
close an ODBC Connection to an ODBC driver using
system.data.odbc.
We are getting the following Error from the Microsoft odbc
driver manager :
"DIAG [25000] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Invalid
transaction state (0).
We understood that this Error message has to do with
pending transactions BUT the odbc driver we are using does
not support transactions and therefore we did not open any
transaction.
The driver is not the problem since it works perfectly
using ASP.

This looks like a bug in the Microsoft odbc driver manager
or the system.data.odbc object.
Is there a way to work around this error and still close
the connection ?
Is there any newer version of the Microsoft odbc driver
manager that solved related bugs ?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Avihay.
