Visual Studio .NET has a feature available under the Tools menu, of the
toolbar, Build Comment Web Pages...
When I use this feature to generate documentation of my VB.NET project, the
Classes and members all appear in the report pages, but the Description
column is empty. I tried to add the Description attribute to my code, but
this did not result in any description being rendered with the generated
comment pages. Is there a way to have your source code supply the text to
appear in the description, or is this only available with C# XML
documentation comments? I realize I can edit the generated HTML reports,
but this is lost if I regen the comments report.
Any word on VB.NET supporting XML comments in an upcoming service pack? It
would be nice to have.
Thanks for input.
