MDI Layout

Hi,

I have a MDI application in Visual Basic .net.
If I have form's startup position as WindowsDefaultLocation

When I open any form in mdi it opens the form a little
left and down from the previous form. That is ok but even
if i close the previuos form the MDi opes the form below
and left as a result after sometime the forms start
getting out of the screen.

Another problem is even if i do form.visible = false and
then at some point form.visible = tru it does not open in
the original position.

If I have the form's start up position as Manual the
forms open in the position as specified in its top and
left but i do not want to do that. I want the forms to
open little left and down from the previous but if a
previous form is closed I want that space to be reused so
that after using the application for sometime the forms do
not open outside the MDI. as is happening in
windowsdefaultposition.

I tried setting all forms startup to manual and calling
mdilayout.cascade whenever a new form opens but that will
not solve my problem as in that case if the user have
moved a form cascade that will move back, which is right.

What I want to achieve is as follows:
Whenever a new form is opened MDI open it little left and
down from the previous but if there is any empty space
before ie. if the user have closed the form then it should
open in the previous position and should not move other
forms.

Is there any way to do this.

Regards
navneet
