Rich clients across intranets?

Hi,

I am a little lost here. I read somewhere that .NET
offered rich client interaction within Intranets (and
presumably within Internets clients as long as they
contain the .NET framework).

By rich clients I of course mean all the nice
Windows.Forms GUI stuff. My understanding is that
applications using this GUI could run within Internet
Explorer.

Am I totally wrong here? Did I misinterpret?

Thanks,
Juan Dent
