Programmatically pop up Tooltip. Possible?

Hi,

Using VB.NET Framework 1.1.
Is it possible to programmatically pop up a tooltip for a control without
positioning the mouse over it?
That is to say do it with code to e.g. show an information for a duration of
time instead of a msgbox.

Thanks in advance
