German umlaut (äöü)

Hi,

I'm writing a Windows.Forms app that uses a webservice that sends texts
containing special characters like äöü (hope you can see this). In the
received strings these characters are replaced by questionmarks. The
webservice is a non .NET-Webservice. Is there anything I can do on the client
side to get the correct data?

Regards,
Stephen
