Problem with Platform SDK (Server 2003 SP1) and STL

I'm using VS.Net 2003 and recently downloaded the latests Platform SDK only
to find that use of the C++ STL caused linker errors in release builds. I've
cured the problem by renaming libcp.lib in the SDK lib directory so that VS
doesn't recognise it and uses the version in its own lib directory instead.

I imagine that my problem is due to some 'development' that I'm not aware of
and have searched everywhere to find out what it might be, but with no luck.
Can anyone help?

Thanks.

(I'm new here so please forgive me if this one's been done to death - can't
find anything about it using 'search')
