c++,delete previously deleted file names/datestamp/etc, on ntfs

im totally stumped on how to get information about names
and datestamps of previously deleted files.. i want to
write a program that deletes this information--i am not
worried about recovering the file or anything... or
overwriting the actual contents of the files--i just want
to make a program that will make it so if another program
tries to search for previously deleted files, nothing will
come up....on ntfs that is...

i have a freeware program called restoration 2.5.14 which
is freeware and does just this... it also can delete
information of previously deleted files on the c:\ drive
while windows is running. e.g. it can list previously
deleted files, and then make it so all this information is
gone without just filling drive with random data..

i do not want to just fill the drive with random data..
this is to easy, i want to a write a program that does what
restoration does but i have no clue what so ever how it
does what it does... no clue what functions or dll's to
use, even after viewing it in a hex editor...

i am a faily experienced c++ user and have had software put
on download.com... i definatley think i would be smart
enough to write this type of a program if i could only get
some information about what functions or dlls to look into
using....

any help would be great, thanks! --avery
