System::Net::Mail::SmtpClient^ smtpClient

hello, i am trying to use the System::Mail::Net library to have my
application send some mail. i initialize all the necessary objects,
such as MailAddress from and MailAddress to, and then a MailMessage
object with the MailAdresses.
then i initialize a SmtpClient with the parameter smtp.someserver.net

then, when i call

smtpClient->send( mailMessage );

i get an execption saying that there are invalid arguements or
paramaters in the mailMessage object. the to and from addresses are
both valid, and so is the smtp server address. does anyone have any
info on why i am getting this exception.
thanks in advance,
alex
