MDI Child draws below widget in parent

I am using VC++ .net for this.
I have an MDI parent window with a button on it, the button opens an MDI
child window within the parent. The problem? The child window insists on
drawing BELOW the button on the parent forum. There seems to be no zorder
property of any kind that I can set. What am I doing wrong?
