Why dependent assembly is copied to application directory?

P: n/a
I have the application which depend on 3 assemblies
A1.dll, A2.dll and A3.dll. I reference these assemblies
in my application project. The assemblies are not part
of my application solution.

Each time I build my application the A1.dll is copied
to debug subdirectory of application project.

Can anyone explain why this is happening? How can I prevent
A1.dll from copying to my application project?
Why only A1.dll is copied to my application project?

Can anyone clarify this situation.
Thanks,
Dale
