Loaded version of third-party control

I'm using a third party .Net control in C++.Net. I have several
different versions of the control in the GAC do to maintenance
releases. I have the latest version loaded in my toolbox, but
whenever I draw the control on a dialog it goes and gets the
references for the first version. Even if I try and add the
references manually and then draw the control, it still loads the
first instance. I added the reference path in my project settings to
point to the directory for the version I want to use, but even that
didn't help matters any. Any one have any ideas as to how to get
this to work. I don't experience the problem in VB.Net or C#.

Thanks....
