How to set/access CompanyName in LocalUserAppDataPath

I would like to save/restore settings to a .config file. To do so, I need
to set the CompanyName and ProductName. I tried editing the strings in
AssemblyInfo.cpp as follows

[assembly:AssemblyCompanyAttribute("MyCompany")];

[assembly:AssemblyProductAttribute("MyProduct")];

but when I try to reference this information, e.g.

Debug::WriteLine(Application::LocalUserAppDataPath );

I get back
C:\Documents and Settings\HWEISS\Local Settings\Application Data\\\1.0.0.0

Clearly the CompanyName and ProductFields are not set.

Also, why does LocalUserAppDataPath return a string which ends with the
version
