Notification is something that your application receives/gets when events
are fired. You may choose to detect only certain notifications. For example,
if you are monitoring a folder, you can choose to ask the system to notify
your application when user add/delete files in the folder. You register the
event that you want to receive and specify a handler that will handle it
when the event occured.

Another typical example, your windows default handler (WindowProc) receives
notification when user pressed a key. In this case you receive a window
message WM_KEYDOWN.

Message is command that instructs what your application should do. You may
send a message (exm: WM_HIDE) to your dialog box to request it to hide
itself. Or you may send message to your service control manager to request
it to stop the service.

Regards,
KC
