Getting a line from telnet

Hello,
I am creating a server side telnet application in
managed C++. It supports multiple socket connections and
sets an event up for receiving data from each telnet
client. Currently, the receive event is fired when one
character is entered from the telnet client. Is there a
way to not accept the transmission until the telnet client
presses enter? Or does the input have to be buffered
character by character on the server side?

Thank you,
Rob
