activex controls in child window

My dialog is loaded into one of three pages of a tab
control. It has combos and Infragistics panel controls.
Normally you can let the class wizard create a class for
the dialog, then create member variables. Then you can
issue commands to change the control at runtime:

m_Panel1.SetCaption("Some Text");

m_Combo1.SelectString(-1, "String 1");

This compiles ok, but when I launch the app., I'm
getting "unsupported command", because the dialog is a
child window (a page in the tab control), and not a popup.

Any suggestions to change the controls at runtime?
