System::Char to char(member varaible)?

Hi.

The following code gives me an error.
"Can not convert parameter 1 from char __gc * to char *"
public __gc class CHelper

{

char m_cSubstSymbol;

void Init( System::Char cSubstSymbol)

{

wcstombs(&m_cSubstSymbol, &cSubstSymbol, 1 ); //----ERROR

}

}

How do I specify that I want &m_cSubstSymbol to be regular pointer?

If i declare m_cSubstSymbol as a local variable then it compiles.

Thanks.

George.
