The URI prefix is not recognized.

Hi everybody,

Whenever I load a .HxT/.HxC file thru the XmlDocument::Load function, I get
the error "The URI prefix is not recognized.". How do I resolve the error?

Waiting for reply...

Well, what is the URI prefix? (http? file? Do you use UNC-Paths? Or just
"C:\..")

Maybe you should post some code - at least the XmlDocument::Load-line.

Hi,

The URI prefix is mshelp://

I load the .HxT/.HxC files from local disks. I use the following piece of
code to load the file...

XmlDocument* document=new XmlDocument();
document->Load(filename);

How can the prefix be mshelp:// if you load the file from disk?!

What is the exact content of ´filename´? "ms-help://MS.VSCC.v80/...htm"
or "file://c:/..hxt" or "C:\..hxt"?

I load the .HxC file from this path "C:\Temp.HxC"

The contents of the file are these

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE HelpCollection SYSTEM "ms-help://Hx/Resources/HelpCollection.DTD">
<HelpCollection
DTDVersion="1.0"
FileVersion="1.0.0.0"
Title="Temp Html Help 2">

<CompilerOptions OutputFile="Temp_Help.HxS">
<IncludeFile File="Temp_Include_Files.HxF"/>
</CompilerOptions>

<TOCDef File="Temp_Contents.hxt"/>

<KeywordIndexDef File="Temp_Index.hxk"/>

<ItemMoniker Name="!DefaultFullTextSearch" ProgId="HxDs.HxFullTextSearch"
InitData="FTS"/>
<ItemMoniker Name="!DefaultTOC" ProgId="HxDs.HxHierarchy"
InitData="Temp_Contents"/>
<ItemMoniker Name="!DefaultKeywordIndex" ProgId="HxDs.HxIndex"
InitData="K"/>
<ItemMoniker Name="!DefaultAssociativeIndex" ProgId="HxDs.HxIndex"
InitData=""/>
<ItemMoniker Name="!DefaultContextWindowIndex" ProgId="HxDs.HxIndex"
InitData=""/>
<ItemMoniker Name="!DefaultNamedUrlIndex" ProgId="HxDs.HxIndex"
InitData=""/>
</HelpCollection>

The second line in the file is the cause of the failure to load the file...

Maybe it helps to use XmlResolver and "remap" the DTD URI to the
Hard-Disk. Or you alter the XML file directly and change the URI or, if
you don't use IDs or Entities just remove the DOCTYPE.
