corrupted xml file

I have a web.config file that contains some application specific information.
I want to edit that data. I created an xml schema file using program
xsd.exe. I then read that file into a dataset (ReadXml). I located an update
the data (all is well) but after I re-create the xml file (WriteXml) my
web.config has the same data in two different places. What am I doing wrong
or is there a better way of editing this web.config file?

thanks

Ignore this. I was just making it more difficult than it was. Works fine now.
