problems with XSLT in combination with webservices

Hi all,

I have a webservice that returns an XMLDocument (actually an XMLNode)
the consumer of this webservice is supposed to do an XSL translation on this
document. However, I can't get it to work.
This is probably because of a namespace issue.
The original document does not contain any namespace declarations, but when
it is send over the webservice, the root element has a xmlns=""
The XSLT does not even match the root when I do this:
<xsl:template match="/">
....
</xsl:template>
However, it does match child elements if I match them like this:
match="child", but they are not matched if I match them like this:
match="//child"

Can anybody shed some light?
