labels in an xml file for opening in Excel

I have Excel 2002 ms office xp. I develop a .xml file in vb .net and a
label example of my problem is '00833', not a number, but a label. In the
..xml file, it's fine; when I open the file in Excel, it appears as '833',
truncating the zeros as if this were a number.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Thanks for any help.
