Use of SOAP Toolkit with VC++ Console Client and ASP.NET Web Service

I have written a Web service that I must access from a modified VC++ 6.0 console application. I am using the SOAP Toolkit version 2.0. I am using the HttpConnector, and the SoapSerializer to construct the SOAP envelope for the request. I am able to connect to the Web service and to invoke the call. In the ASP.NET (C# code) I can see the call be made from the client. However, all the input parameters are null. All the calls in the client to build the request envelope succeed. I am using the Connector->BeginMessage() before making calls to the Serializer. I am not using the Connector->BeginMessageWSDL. I see in the Toolkit docs that calls to BeginMessage result in calls to BeginMessageWSDL with a null operation

The Web service do not contain any COM objects. I am using the SOAP Toolkit in order to make SOAP calls from a VC++ 6.0 console application

I am clearly missing something. What
