Overhead of 'XmlDocument' object

What's the overhead involved in creating lots and lots of XmlDocument
objects within one application? Not being terribly familiar with the
innards of the DOM used with the framework, was wondering what you're
paying for by instantiating lots of little documents as opposed to one
big one.

Thanks,
Justin

I don't think there is any substancial difference. Overhead might be in
searching/modifying huge XmlDocument.
btw, make sure you really need DOM. XPathDocument is more effective than
XmlDocument.

Thanks for your response. What ways is XPathDocument is more effective?

Thanks,
Justin

XPath data model it's based on is much simpler than DOM, it's read-only
(will be editable in .NET 2.0 though), designed and carefully optimized
for effective XPath navigation and querying.
