I don't know off the top off my head, and you're trying to do quite a few
diverse things for a beginner but let me try to give you some pointers:
you can read POSTed XML data from the request's InputStream:
using System.IO;
....
String postData = new StreamReader( Request.InputStream ).ReadToEnd();
how to write and consume a web service is explained in [0] and you can find
very basic examples on ADO.NET at [1].
You're biting off a big piece if you're totally new to the environment. You
may at least want to take a look at the .NET Framework SDK documentation
that's conveniently located on your local hard drive, or maybe you want to
pick up a book and get familiar with the basics.

Hello - I am very new to the .NET environment, so please be paitent - Can
anyone point me to a very basic example of a project that takes an XML
stream from a web page and sends it to a ASP.NET Web Service that can then
be used to pull records from a SQL Server DB. Like I said I am green at
this, so the more basic it is the better. I am reading about having to
serialize, etc... but not sure about it all yet.
Thanks in advance.
