open XML dataset in append mode

Hi,
I've been trying to open an XML file and append just one record more
efficiently. Diffgramms, offer no solution but who has good code to to get
this result (without completely rewriting the file on disk?)

code below, te become smarter :) hints?
class Piet

{

public static void Main()

{
Dataset1 d = new Dataset1();
Stream str = new FileStream(@"c:\somedata.xml", FileMode.OpenOrCreate,
FileAccess.ReadWrite, FileShare.None);

if (str.Length > 0)

d.ReadXml(str);

Dataset1.somedataRow dr = d.somedata.NewsomedataRow();

dr.Data = "blah " + Environment.TickCount.ToString();

d.somedata.AddsomedataRow(dr);

str.SetLength(0);

d.WriteXml(str);

str.Close();

}

}
