What is the difference between the obj and bin folders in VS.NET?

nfr
The binaries in both of these appear to be the exact same MSIL for both DLL
and EXE. Why two folders and does it matter if one is used as a reference in
a project vs. the other?

Looks like I wasn't the only one confused by this apparent duplication.. :)

Thanks.
