Reading from XML into SP

hi,

I have a xml file.

And i want to be able to read those values into a stored procedure.

The XML structure is

<cash>
<tag section=1 id=1 param=2 param3=3 />
<tag section=1 id=2 param=2 param3=3 />
<tag section=2 id=1 param=2 param3=3 param4=4 />
<tag section=2 id=2 param=2 param3=3 param4=4 />
<tag section=3 id=1 param=2 param3=3 param4=4 />
</cash>

The way the SP are called is for every tag that belong to section=1 a SP is fired and for every section=2, another SP is fired.

tag section=3 is utilized by both the SP.

This is a very rough example.

Presently, i am reading the XML and converting it into an ArrayList and then passing the ArrayList to the SP, but i would like to eliminate the Arraylist, as it is an extra step inbetween.

Suggestions are welcomed.

So, what's you problem? Read the docuemnt using XmlTextReader and on
each tag element check section attribute and fire appropriate SP('s).

Is there any example you could refer me to .. that does something like this?

i am looking at finding an example, where the attributes of an xml file are
using as input parameters to SP .

I don't think you can find exact example of your task. First find out how to
parse your XML, then how to query attributes values and finally how to provide
values to a SP.
