problem with vb soap client

Hi,
I'm writing a soap server in CL, the client I use to test it is a VB
client.
when i send an xml request (written "by hand") through a tunnel, i
receive a good xml response. but when i call the service via vb, i got
the following exception
at System.Xml.XmlTextReader.ParseTag()
at System.Xml.XmlTextReader.ParseRoot()
at System.Xml.XmlTextReader.Read()
at System.Xml.XmlReader.MoveToContent()
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtoc ol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage
message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean
asyncCall)
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtoc ol.Invoke(String
methodName, Object[] parameters)
at Example1.getOpx2(String Operator, String Opx2ClassName, String
Opx2ColumnsName, String WhereClause)
at Client.Main()

is that a wsdl problem? what kind of data does the client expects?
thx for any help
