ASP not working

Ant
Hi,
ASP.NET was working fine when I first installed it, then something happened.
i don't know what, but now i get this message when I try to open up an old
project, or create a new one:

"Visual studio .NET has detected that the specified Web server is not
running ASP.NET version 1.1. You will be unable to run ASP.NET Web
applications or services."

I am running .NET framework 1.1 ( which I'm assuming installs ASP.NET 1.1).
I also ran the utility aspnet_regiis with the /i switch. after rebooting, I
found the fault remained.

The fault occured before I installed .NET framework 1.1. I thought that
might cure the problem, but it remains.

Does anybody know how to fix this. I'm desperate!

Many thanks for any input

Hi Kevin,
Thanks very much for your input, however the KB article only tells me to run
aspnet_regiis.exe /i, which I've already done with no positive results. Do
you have any other possible sugestions? Do I need to reinstall .net et al ?

Thanks for your input anyway.
