sum of elements of integer array

Is there a concise way to sum the elements of an integer array? If the length
of an array is long, what is the best coding way to sum a range of the
elements of the array?

Thanks for any help!

No shorter than just looping.

I can't see anything being significantly quicker than a straight loop.
Do you have reason to believe the most obvious route would be a
performance bottleneck in your application?
