Listbox DisplayMember not being set

I have a listbox which I want to populate with an array that I am returning
from a WebService. My code is as follows

GlossaryItem[] glossaryItems = webService.GetGlossaryItems();

lb1.DataSource = glossaryItems;
lb1.DisplayMember = "Term";

When I run the application the listbox only displays the Type of the
elements, not their values. "Term" is the name of the public property in the
GlossaryItem class. Does the fact that I'm using webservices have anythign
to do with this?
