Stylus Studio and Raining Data Partner to Simplify XML Data Services

Stylus Studio 6 XML Enterprise Edition Now Integrates with TigerLogic
XDMS XQuery and Native XML Database

Bedford, MA, -- Stylus Studio ( http://www.stylusstudio.com ), the
industry-leading provider of XML development tools for advanced XML
data integration, and Raining Data Corporation (NASDAQ: RDTA), a
leading provider of reliable data management solutions, today announced
a new partnership to accelerate and make easier development of XML Data
Services integrated in Service Oriented Architectures (SOA). The new
Stylus Studio® 6 XML Enterprise Edition and TigerLogic® XML Database
Management Server (XDMS) 2.1.1 are now fully integrated. Both products
are now shipping to customers and available for free evaluation
downloads from both companies' Web sites.

"Stylus Studio users are software architects and developers that need
to rapidly build, test, and deploy XML Data services based on XML
technologies like XQuery, XSLT and XML Schema and databases," said
Carlo Innocenti, Stylus Studio Sr. Program Manager. "The integration of
Stylus Studio and TigerLogic XDMS makes it easy to work with XQuery
functions, XML data stored in the TigerLogic XDMS native XML database
and Web Services calls expressed within XQuery expressions directly
from Stylus Studio's powerful visual integrated development tools."
These tools include XQuery code completion, visual tools to run and
preview XQuery scripts, and visual XML editors to work with XML, DTD,
XML Schema, and Web Services (SOAP) structures.

Initial reaction from the software developer community is positive.

"XML, XQuery, and native XML database technology are the keys to
simplify Web Services and SOA development -- Integrating Stylus Studio
and TigerLogic XDMS is a good move," said R.W. Nick Stavros, Ph.D. with
G2 Software Systems, Inc. who follows innovative new technologies.

"The partnership between Stylus Studio and Raining Data lets us more
rapidly deliver leading edge tools to SOA developers," said Frank
Cohen, Director of Solutions Engineering at Raining Data. "SOA
developers now work in a visual environment to create, test, and deploy
services. Our partnership with Stylus Studio takes the complexity out
of developing SOA and fits within our long-term strategy to increase
interoperability, performance, and flexibility in information systems."

TigerLogic XDMS and download free evaluation copies at:
