.NET linker fails with /3GB flag

Does anyone know why the .NET C++ linker fails to link on Win2K Advanced
Server with /3GB flag set? My machine is a dual Xeon with 4GB of Ram.

I can't get any application to link.

Output of the build:

LINK : fatal error LNK1214: initialization failed (8007045A) :
