Hello
I don't know, if my question is placed right, but I will give it a try.
In our company we recently switched over from VBasic 6.0 to VB.NET. We
have some applications which change very often and so we published them
simply via placing them onto a network-share and putting an link to the
users desktop. With VB.net this does not work anymore, because the
Framework runs into a securityexception while accessing for example a
database.
I have read something about signing the applications to get over this,
but I have not found a complete HowTo or something like that.
Maybe you could point me to one, or at least tell me, if I got it right.
As far as I understood, you generate a programm normaly, get a X.509
Cert someware and sign the assembly with the tool signcode.exe.
But them what? How do I configure the Client to accept the Cert?
Thanks a lot for help.
