Is there any assurances from Microsoft that programs that I create with
vs.2005 beta2 will not break once the final version vs.2005 comes out.
Their go live program indicates that you are allowed to create
"production"
applications with beta2, and I thought I heard that Microsoft has a clause
in
their go-live license that assures compatiblilty will not be broken
between
beta2 and the final release, but I could not find that clause anywhere.
If anyone knows where I can find a link or document that has this clause,
it
would be appreciated if you could forward it to me.
thank you
Actually, the go-live license states the exact opposite, and I suggest you
download and read the entire license here:
http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/golive/
In particular, this clause addresses your question:
"7.2 Recipient expressly acknowledges and agrees that the Pre-Release
Software may change substantially prior to commercial release of the
Pre-Release Software and Recipient's Applications may not work with
subsequent releases of the Pre-Release Software. This Supplemental License
provides Recipient no rights with respect to subsequent pre-release or
commercial versions, if any, of the Pre-Release Software."
Pretty clear, I believe.
