Detecting Applications on a Machine

I need to grab information about the applications on
a machine. Right now I'm looping through
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uni nstall and pulling
"DisplayName", "DisplayVersion", and "Publisher" from each key in
Uninstall. Is there a better way to do this? TIA
