asp.net table vs html table

I use asp.net tables to format the layout of my web forms (in web
matrix). One thing I really don't like about asp.net tables is if you
want to alter objects or controls in the table you have to do it in
code view. With html tables I can do it in design view, dragging and
dropping controls easily in the table cells. Is there any advantage to
using the .net table over the html table since the framework outputs
the results to an html table anyway? Although from a html standpoint
the .net table just seems more readable, but other than tah I don't see
a whole lot of benefit except if you need to access the tables
properties etc...

Anyway, any comments are appreciated.
