XpBurn bug resolved and some function added...

Hello
I think I resolved a lot of things about this component that before didn't
function correctly...
I don't know, if you are interested on this...anyway, I can send the project
to people ask for this...(maybe I'll put this on a blog in future...)

I list all changes I made...:

-Resolved the problem, that you couldn't burn or erase more than
once(problem about imapi)
-Resolved the problem in the add files(something about the error of
duplicate keys)
-Resolved the problem about added file, which remains opened and you
couldn't use while the program which use the xpburn still running because
they were locked
-fixed the freediscspace function that it was not working correctly
-Added a function, which returns the driveletter of a burner drive

I spent quite long time to resolve these issues but failed.
I was really happy to find your posting about xpburn issues.
Your list is exactly what I've been struggling with.
Would you send your precious codes to my email at

Hi,

I'm busy playing with the XPBurn Component, creating a small backup app
for my own purposes. Problem is, sometimes I want to backup a directory
structure, that somewhere inside, contains an empty directory. Because
the directory structure is important to me, I need to be able to back it
up too.

The AddFiles(fullPath, nameOnCd) method gives me:
Message "File c:\temp must exist to be burned to a CD" String

This happens when I add an empty directory as an entry, otherwise it
won't be written to CD.
So I assume AddFiles literally can only add files :D
I've searched the net, tried to change the entry to AddFiles in many
different ways, none useful.
Any solution you could help me with?

Thanks

If it is not too late, I would like a copy of the updated burn control.
I was able to resolve a few issues myself, but I am no c# programmer by
far. Did you ever have problems with files being open and trying to burn
them. My biggest problem is the files being in use after burn is
complete. It seems no matter how much I try to destory the object, it
keeps the files open unit I close my app.

Thanks,
Richard

Luca,

After days of searching, I've stumbled across your thread which may solove my issues. WIll you be kind enough to e-mail me your solution at LEXCERM@YAHOO.CO.UK.

I have been using command FileCopy to backup an Access db to CD. This has been working fine up until recently when I have started getting an Error 75 message - File/Path unknown and I cannot copy the file over. Burning MP3's via ITuner and Media player works fine and so does a basic copy and paste from explorer.

I did notice a file on a the Cd along the lines of No Storage Space (I think) the last time I attemptd to copy a file. Have tried CDRW/CDR's and other CD's but to no avail. I was also able to delete files from CD's prior to this problem, but now I can't. Keep getting a READ/ONLY message appear.

I don't have 3rd party burners and I currently have a Samsung SM-348B.

I have been reading about IMPAI and this possible being the cause of my problems.

Thanks in advance,
Paul.

Does anyone out there have these fixes? Or are they available for
download somewhere? I've just run into the FreeDiscSpace() problem.

Hi Luca,
It will be very helpful if you could email me your updates on the xpBurn. I have been facing few issues with the xpBurn like the freeDiskSpace etc.
The xpBurn that Iam currently using has been modified slightly to address issues like explicitly using the Dispose ().
Iam also facing another problem where when i try to close the fileStream object, i sometimes get an exception "Cannot access a closed file". It will be helpful if there are some pointers to resolve this issue. My email id is supriyadevi@hotmail.com.

Supriya
