connection to the port

We have a 10 bit digital data from the adc. we have
to connect this to the pc and read the
data.(preferably parallel).our platform is vb.net.
i need the idea regarding the connection to the port(either usb or lpt1 or
(lastly com1)) as well as the program for
reading the data into the port in vb.net.
