I have been developing small applications to speed up certain tasks. First I
have been using NetBeans(Java Sun) as my base language. Well the problem that
I have reached was that I was not able to distribute my apps (30 kb) to the
clients without the JVM(14mb). Trying to figure out how I could separate the
JVM into libraries that I actually require. Not successful even though I used
a bunch of different tools.
Overhearing some rumor that .Net libraries are distributed with Windows I
switched to J#. Can’t complain about the ease of coding in that IDE but my
problem still remains. I found out that my builds would not run on a box that
does not have the NET Framework (24mb).
Yes, it might seem funny now days when downloading 24 mb, yet think customers.
The program itself is 30kb but it needs another 30mb. Not quite efficient. I
heard about Salamander Linker (if I am not mistaken) but could not get a hold
of it yet.
I hope someone could enlighten me and direct to the right solution. I am
fairly new (young) so any tips/tricks are appreciated.
