comments or Books on adjusting to dotnet from before dotnet?

If Im writing an article on how to help the migration from the previous
versions of Microsoft Visual studio to the dotnet platform? Aimed at
developers who just have not yet started in with dotnet but hear its the
latest and greatest, and something they need to get up to speed with??

Can anyone add comments or books, other articles or ? about how to get
developers up to speed in a hurry, to motivate them to use it?

Pointing to the express beta? versions like C sharp is one, but those
familiar with VB6 trying to use vb.net encounter frustration, and Im going
to address some ways to get over the learning curve; then explain why C
sharp is great, but also why C++ is still the only way to do x, y, z.

Thanks for any comments or advice
