Problem Whenever Rebuilding The Solution

Ram
Hey,
I'v recently upgraded my computer to WinXP (previousely was Win2k SP4).
After installing VisualStudio.Net 2003, I took the latest version of my
solution (my solution has 2 ClassLibrary Projects and one Web Application)
out of our VisualSourceSafe Server, And all went well.
But ever since, every time I make a change in my project and try to rebuild
the project, it takes about 5 minutes, where as when I reubiled the same
project on the Win2k computer, it was immediate.
It couldnt be a problem of hardware because I add more 500 MB RAM to my
computer (having now 1GB).

Whenever I disconnect my computer from the network, and work disconnected
from the VSS, the compilation time becomes immediate...
It cant be a problem with my network cabels since my network adapter is
100MB.
My best guess is that the problem is in the connection to the VSS DataBase,
but what's weird is that when I had the Win2k OS it had no problems at
all...
Thanks ahead
