How to prevent auto-creation of control resx file?

[Got no answer to this over in the VS general section so I'm reposting
here...]

I've created several simple controls for use in a Compact Framework
application and also use a full .Net framework app for testing. However,
Visual Studio keeps creating RESX files for these controls whenever I open
the .cs file. The problem is that the RESX files are not compatible between
Compact and full .Net frameworks.

I have no need for these RESX files - the controls work just fine without
them!

Is there some way using an attribute or some other trick that I can use to
stop Visual Studio from creating these unwanted RESX files?

TIA

Mike Scott.
