FxCop question

Hi.

I've written a bunch of custom rules for FxCop version 1.23, and today
happened to download and install (separately) the new FxCop 1.321.

Arrgghh !

The new introspection stuff is a lot nicer, but I will have to move my
rules over. Fair enough, but I notice that there is still no
documentation for the SDK, I understand that's because there may be
future changes to it.

Any idea when the docs will be released ?

Another issue with the old FxCop is that only certain machines in our
office are able to run it... We've got a library consisting of 5 or so
dlls with ~1000 types, and most machines run out of memory. I can run my
custom rules by themselves, but when I switch on the Default rules (not
all of them) the machines give out of memory error messages. I've been
meaning to drill down and eliminate which rules are the problem, but
just haven't got around to it :) Perhaps the Introspection engine is
less memory intensive ?

Also, has there been any thought in regards to implementing a standard
API for rules that check documentation (ie. XML comments) in code. I've
implemented a dictionary class, but one would have thought that this
would be a common enough requirement for the devs at FxCop to have a
think about.

Any info on this would be appreciated.

Regards,
Michael J Ivanic
