DateTime is not CLS compliant

When I attempted to add a default to a DateTime element in an XSD and then
generate the dataset I received an error saying that the DateTime type was
not CLS compliant and it would subsequently not generate my strongly typed
dataset class. If a DateTime is not CLS compliant then what are we supposed
to use? Or what can I do to get VStudio to accept the default on the
DateTime?
