W3C Compliance - .NET Framework

I have a friend who just installed FireFox 1.0 and is having trouble
displaying a web site that I created using Visual Basic and Visual Studio
..Net 2003. For example, with FireFox command buttons are not positioned
where I want them (and where they are displayed with IE 6.0) and the
formatting (background color and font) is not what was specified at design
time. Also, a textbox is not displayed with the font and width I set-up at
design time (and that displays OK in IE 6.0). Is there some way that when I
create a web page using VB .Net that I can be assured it will display
properly in FireFox?
