"blue screen" when installing Visual Studio .net on AMD64

Hi,

I am trying to install Visual Studio .Net 2003 (Academic Edition) on my PC
with a 64 bit AMD processor.

This is what happens:
1. The install process installs the prerequisites -> ok
2. The install process starts copying approx. 90 files to harddisk -> ok
3. The install process starts install scripts. At about 2/3 of the scripting
process the machine simply REBOOTS!!!

I reboot the machine and restart the install process. Prerequisites are ok,
the machine starts with removing the remainders of the previous installation
of Visual Studio. Afterwards the install process starts again with step 2
above. The machine reboots at the same point as before. And so on...

I had some service guys check the machine and they said it is ok, but Visual
Studio is not supported for 64 bit processors!

Has anybody managed to install VS on a 64 bit processor or experienced
similar behaviour?

Thanks,

Peter
