I am planning to market an application I have developed using VB.NET and MSDE
2000. Could anyone please educate me on licensing and copyright issues?

Creative Commons may work for you but in general you can do as I've done and
start a collection of agreements and licenses when visiting web sites for
reuse as reference guidelines. Use Google to find related articles and
documentation. Start with the U.S. Copyright Office [2].
