report parameters problems - forward dependencies are not valid

I get the following message:

"The report parameter ‘InstName’ has a DefaultValue or a ValidValue that
depends on the report parameter “InstName”. Forward dependencies are not
valid."

I have a parameter I established in a dataset. I believe I have done this
just like the book I have, which worked with the book example. When I run
this, I get the message above.

Does anyone have experience with this and could help me out please?

Thanks much,

Chris
